The main event at this year’s Annual Gathering and AGM at the Echills Wood Railway (EWR) will start from Friday 16th September and will run until Sunday 18th September. Members may arrive at EWR from 2pm, Thursday 15th September 2021. There will be free 6 camping pitches and 20 caravan pitches but all members wishing to use these facilities must pre-book. Note: Well behaved dogs under control are welcome.

Members are invited to book in their engines for running on the railway. All sizes and types of locomotives can be accommodated, the site is 7¼” Gauge and H&SE compliant with a 7mph max line speed limit with 3mph speed limit through stations crossings and over footpaths. The railway has a main line of over 2km (1.25mls) in length, several sidings and branch lines plus a large loco and stock depot area. All this is located within Kingsbury Water Park in over 600 acres of woodlands and fifteen lakes, run and maintained by the rangers and staff of Warwickshire County Council. There is secure accommodation on site for 70 locomotives together with plenty of good tap water for locomotives. All the on the run coaling, oiling and watering must be carried out in the loops at Harvester Station, Far Leys Station or Picnic Green Station.

Details of car-parking arrangements will be given in the Information Handbook being supplied to those members and guests attending the Weekend.

Tea and Coffee will be provided daily by the EWR catering staff and pre-booked orders for packed lunches will be available on Friday, Saturday and Sunday. The Water Park has an on-site Café that will also be available and is at the rear of the Visitors' centre.

On Friday evening there will be a pre-booked fish and chip supper served on site and there will be an informal pre-booked on-site hog-roast supper on the Saturday after the AGM. No evening meal will be served on the Sunday.

All pre-booked meals must be pre-paid. The bar, situated in the yard near the entrance gate, will be open Friday and Saturday, 12pm to 7.30pm and Sunday 12pm to 5pm. The EWR catering will be in the marquee adjacent to the railway.

Bronze and Silver Award Proficiency Scheme testing will be undertaken, if you require it, during the weekend. Please complete the relevant section on the booking form. On arrival, a time will be agreed with you. It normally takes less than an hour to complete.

The formal Annual General Meeting will take place at 4.00pm on Saturday 17th September 2022 to be held in the marquee situated adjacent to the Harvesters Station.

All members and guests may sign in from 2.00pm Thursday afternoon 15th September. For members bringing locomotives your public liability insurance certificate and boiler test certificates together with proof of current year’s membership of the society/club that tested the boiler(s) and issued the insurance certificate will be inspected before they are called forward to unload.

NOTE:- NO COMPLETE PAPERWORK – NO RUN. All members booking in will receive a handbook prior to their arrival that will detail how to find and get to EWR plus all the events and running instructions for the railway and details for events during your visit. Special name badges will be issued on signing in.
