Invitation to Leighton Buzzard event

THE Leighton Buzzard Railway is planning a ‘Welsh Slate Fest’ for its Gala weekend of 15th./16th. September, which will take place at the Stonehenge Works terminus of the railway.

As with the highly successful ‘Coffee-pot’ event last year, the accent will be on displaying and operating as many models and miniature versions of slate related locomotives in addition to the real thing. Although all relevant types will be welcomed, particular focus will be on the ever popular Hunslet Quarry tanks, and the organisers hope to attract the largest gathering of the genre ever assembled.
Owners will be able to operate on 16mm. scale, five inch, and seven and a quarter inch gauges, and a warm invitation is given to bring along their locomotives for one or both days. Other gauges may be accommodated in a small exhibition space.

It is essential to know in advance of owners intentions to join in this fascinating event. For further details please contact the organiser, Alf Fisher, as soon as possible either by email at or by phone on 01923 770891 but NOT the Leighton Buzzard Railway.
