4 Jaw chuck loan sought

Hi, I am looking to borrow or purchase a 10"/250mm independent 4 jaw chuck for my Colchester Student roundhead. My 8" 4 jaw won't hold my 10" drivers satisfactorily. I am based in south Bucks but can travel and frequent mid Suffolk regularly
Many thanks in advance.

Could you not mount them on a face-plate, or even on a spigot, instead. Granted it'd mean more set up time. There are always many ways of de-furring a feline in engineering.

Yes I could, but I don't want to spend an age setting up as you say. There must be a couple of chucks sitting idle out there.

Another option might be someone in striking distance who will let you use their lathe.

If using a spigot, make it from as large a diameter as you can, so it will back up and take the 'ring' out of the casting. Clamp with as big a support washer as you can fit as well. I've done a few that way in the past when I had only a small lathe.

Thanks for the advice.
