Although I think most members knew Simon, I add this picture of him driving his Romulus 'Bethany' at Coleraine, for the benefiit of those who are unsure.

I was very sad to here the news of his passing away. Simon was responsible for getting me into 7 1/4" gauge, my Romulus has Bethany's spare boiler.

Simon was such a nice guy and the whole family were absolutely dedicated to 7¼ society. My condolences to Simon's family.

Simon's death is a great sadness to all who knew him. I had his help and guidance for some years at Millerbeck and he helped cure many problems in the early years of Captain Hook. Each time I look at the beautiful Brass name plates I am reminded of him as he had them cast for me in Halifax after the patterns were made by David Tedford. All good memories and condolences to Anne and the family. Brian Hicks.
